Alright. Do you know WHY a 6-1 Header has really long equal length tubes?

Better flow, less turns, favorable back pressure. Good for N/A applications.

Do you know why a turbo exhaust manifold only has one outlet right out of the head? Turbos use the heat from exhaust gases [which are hottest right after exiting the head] as well as the pressure of the gases leaving the head to spin the turbine in the hot side of the turbo. The 'opening' is a 'T3' port that will accept most turbos with a T3 flange.

AFTER the exhaust gases exit the hot side of the turbo, the less back pressure the better. If there is a lot of back pressure it can slow the turbine wheel down.

You are talking about two completely different things here and you're trying to make an argument over something that you MISREAD.
It wasn't misread, it was misleading. Also, having never seen a turbo manifold, there's no way for me to know why it would not work for my application.

Anyways. I think I've gathered all the useful information I have the patience to gather from reading between posts to make my decisions.

KA TB + ported intake + larger AFM for now. This should give me some experience with modifying/tuning parts, if only that. Those parts can be found cheap at a yard, so no real loss of funds.

Either a Cressida AFM w/ the controller swapped in (really easy from the How To I read) or one off a Turbo Z

just so you know, most of the screws holding all the electronic crap in place are usually VERY tight, and you could end up rounding out the screws and spend alot of time trying to undo them and possibly messing up the circuit board or the connector

and sorry for the misleading comment on the turbo manifold, I cleared it up in a later post, but it got bumped back by hoov and bojo who seem to try and trash every thread they enter <_<

Yeah...I've dealt with worse while taking hard drives apart. :P I'm sure I'll get it out without too much stress. Thanks for the heads up though. :P

Yes, but it would just be nice if everyone would just ignore him when he came into a topic about his 7 second car that he built for $2k, we all know it's not true, so why get in an argument over it?

Hmm. Think it would be worth it to cut off the stock plenum off the intake and port out the runners then weld a bigger tube onto the runners? I have a spare intake laying around...Along with a good sized metal tube (kinda like the lonewolf ones look like)

I have a Log style intake in the works, Ill put up some pics a little later.

if your going to go threw the trouble of welding a new plenum on then you should hack the runners off and make new ones too. Ill go into some more detail when I have pics up for visual reference

So the intake plenum is for mixing the air/gas under pressure before it goes through the runners into the intake, right?

I've noticed a lot of plenums are square, would a rounded plenum not be better pressure-wise?

no

yes and no, a square plenum isnt as efficient, but theres nothing to do with pressure.

gonna change the TB plate. smooth out all the welds, and port all the runners.
and I might have to angle the mouth out at an angle to squeeze the IC piping in

Damn, Compared to that Mines going to look a little half assed ^^" As the only thing I have to weld with for that is a brazer. That and Im probably keeping the runners thats already on it. Maybe. I just dont want to have to fabricate a new throttle linkage

lol a brazer is not gonna fly for an aluminum intake

what are you having to make new linkage for?

****...

And If I cut it like you did I would have to reweld the linkage back on which may be a pain.
