280zx widow-maker project. Need Build Advice
well, my horns don't work. so i was gonna buy me some new ones and put em in, and since i'm runnin an old aftermarket sterring wheel without the horn wires in it, i decided to add me an auxillery horn button. It will be Cleverly disguised as something else. i just don't know what yet. Prolly a cig lighter.
But anyway. i went and bought the button and wiring for it and decided to hold off on the horns themselves for now. When i got back i pulled the old horns off of the front to see if they were broken. when wired directly to the battery, one goes "HHAAAyyyyynnk" kinda puny like, and the other **I expected it to go Haynk too** went BEEEEEP!!!.
so i picked it and myself back up off the ground and decided to clean em, and reuse em.

if i break down and decide to buy new ones i was lookin at the El Grande Twin electrics. they're cheap. but i'm not rich so thats okay. For now though, i'm gonna re-install and rewire my lop sided horns and deal with it.

okay, so i removed my cold start valve and ran around without it to try and clean up my intake manifold. Well, i didn't like the way it ran so i put it back on and got new hoses and all for it. well, i got it all put in there and fired it back up and she ran so much better. I was like "WOOT BABY!!" then i looked up and saw green **** gushin outta my motor.
"AAHHH!!! NO!! YOU RETARD!!" *yeah i talk to myself when i work. Means i always got somebody to talk to* anyway. i had forgotten to tighten one of the hose clamps on my coolant lines. Thankfully no damage.
Moral of the story: Keep papertowels or other liquid absorbing rags/tissues handy in case you pull a dumbass move like forgetting to tighten your hoses.
And don't ever shut your hood till you've tested your work.

i did that ^^^^
removed some coolant lines off my TB to clean it up a little, and one of my plugs decided to blow out on me when i launched teh car for the very first time.... just a magical white cloud behind me and i knew it was time to stop, it also burnt out my starter....
and its not that you cant adjust them (cause you cant) its that YOU DONT HAVE TO!!!! isnt that amazing, it uses oil pressure to properly set them thats why they are so awsome.... so why do people hate the Z hydraulic lifters?

Well, i'm outta money and bored as hell and wanted to work on my car. so i grabed my tools and ran out to the parking lot.
well, my lighter doesn't work like its supposed to, and i don't smoke anyway. Soooo.... I pulled all required panels and jerked the stereo hub out so i could get to it, and i gutted the lighter. i ended up getting it set up so that it looks like just a normal ole cig lighter. you can even pull it out like a normal lighter. might get a suprise when you look at the end of it **"Is this a screw in your ciggaret lighter?"** but other than that, you would never know that its now my horn button. and all that wiring changes didn't effect any of my other systems, or even my Transmitter gizmo in the ashtray. i did however forget to plug the hot wire to my light back in. so, my cig lighter/horn button is not illuminated right now.

i know these cars'll typically eat ricers for lunch, but i didn't expect them to stack up so well against the newer model Dodge Magnums. from a rolling start i cleared the finish line a half to a quarter car length ahead. I was stoked. i'm not sure if either of us were really taking it all that serious but it was still fun. Then i turned around and got a speeding ticket for goin 55 in a 40.
DOH!

alright. so the hoses leading from my oil filter setup to the oil cooler are leaking around the hose-to-metal connections (??). i'm pretty sure its leaking from the Oil Cooller side of the hose though because its spraying back over the engine from the front. or at least, the oil is getting all over the engine and not just the back half of it. its not a god awful leak, but its a messy one and i'm gettin tired of continually having to clean the oil off the engine before i work on it.

hope the illustration helps. What i'm lookin for here is what the hoses are Called so i know what to look for or if somebody knows the part number, that would be even more Awsome. OR if you know how to fix this problem without having to go buy new hoses, that would be even MORE AWSOMER!!
higher resolution pictures of the hoses and oil filter side of the engine are available at my photobucket account linked in my sig.
Heres the link again anyway.:http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff82/JPerkins280zxt/

Yikes... I don't think there is an easy/cheap fix for that pressure connection. MSA nor CourtesyParts sell it... I didn't check BDA, but your best bet is to hit up the junk yard, search on ebay, or call up your local Nissan dealer.
you could always get new rubber lines put on those, just go to a semi truck repair place and show them. they make lines like that all the time. or the other option is a hydralic line shop. ive had stuff like that repaired at work b4.
Ho-Ly-****.... I just priced that hose from the nissan dealer here. the hoses coming off of the oilfilter adapter alone are 450 dollars plus some change. then the other hoses connecting from those to the oil cooler itself are 180 dollars a peice.
and theres three other hoses if i heard right from the guy in the parts department. so thats (180x3)+450=990. Damn near a thousand dollars for just the hose set up.

) that can repair or replace ANY hose you have. Check your yellah pages to see if there is something like that local for you.
yeah. i just got done doing just that. theres a place not far from base here called Midwest Hose company that specializes in hoses too. So i'm gonna run them by there and see what they charge to fix it. i tried to ask over the phone but they said they had to see what state the hoses are in to be able to tell me what it would cost to fix it.
