the z32 LSD is viscous dummy. no clutches. and LSD addative does absolutely nothing for a Viscous type LSD. the coupling is fully self contained. the fluid you put in a viscous LSD has no bearing whatsoever on the LSD capability of that unit, as anything pertaining to LSD is sealed off form the rest of the unit. so you cant blame the Royal Purple.

280zx t-tops (and most all 80's t-top cars) have leaky seals... it's science.

i got an auto tranny in my z, and while i'm sure a manual would be more fun, i'm not Complainin about the one i got. i just look funny as F*** stompin for a clutch petal that aint there right before curves. (i'm gettin outta that habbit.) BTW. Took out all the interior panelling, padding and carpet from the rear of the car, as well as the passenger seat and radio speakers, and left it at half a tank of gas. Even with worn out shocks and struts you could definately tell a difference in handling and take off. I'm findin more and more fun stuff to do with this car everyday. And i figured out why it shakes so bad coming up on 6000 on the tach. i have three bent rims. (ya ever buy a car from somebody, and they took such good care of it, that you just wanted to give em a nice big strangling?)

547mile run results: Previous run time 8hrs17mins. New run time 7hrs39mins. Thats getting caught in 5o'clock dallas traffic on both runs.

Well... the interwebnetz is a good start... and it will cost exactly eleventytwo dollars... because everyone charges the exact same for an L28ET.

In a junk yard. Whatever they charge for a motor. Or you can order a long block from Nissan and pay about $1500. But then you'll have to source all the turbo parts too...

Your best bet is to try and pick up a complete turbo car and do the swap. That way, you're guaranteed to have all the parts you need in the "parts" car... get it?

P.S.
No thread jacking. Please start your own thread.

Thx. The Mgmt.

i can scrounge around the local salvage yard. theres about 5 z-cars there, possibly one turbo, if somebody aint found it and snatched it already. last time i asked, the yard owner told me 300 bucks for the whole car. thats the one with no body damage. if i find it, i'll ask him to hold it for ya.

Note: as for getting it to California, i can't really help ya with that.

Dude... "tonsoffun300zx" is in Corona California. That'd be about $850 for shipping on that $300 Z... You can buy a decent turbo car for that $1150 right here in CA.

I was just throwin it out there hoss. the interwebnetz can be a big scary place some times . and eleventytwo dollars is hard money to come by. (at least i haven't found that much yet) But yeah, prolly a better idea to look in cali first, before buyin from Oklahoma.

Edit: btw, if anybody knows how to fix bent rims and wants a set of swatstikas i'll trade em for a set of not-bent rims. (yeah, i know its not likely, but the world has all kinds of neat people. Any bent rim collectors out there?)

exhaust piping problem

So i was trying to go from a 2 1/4 inch exhaust pipe to a 2 1/2 or 3 inch, but the guy at the muffler shop said he couldn't fit a 2 1/2 inch pipe over the rear axle. I was thinking about tacking a bracked onto the catalytic converter heat sheild about midway back before the rear axle and just stopping it there so i can run 2 1/2 or 3 inch pipes. What says the jury?

i looked at the stock pipe myself before he even started working on it. the tail pipe on the 82 model zx turbo did go over the rear axle. unless that was a crappy mod decision by the previous owner. But i'll take it to a different muffler shop anyway and see what they say.
