water pump and emissions.

well i want to replace my water pump with a electric water pump. any suggestions on wether its a good or bad idea? i think it may free up a couple hp. also i tore off alll emissions on my intake manifold. do i need any of it for the car to run? none of it was hooked up or plugged in and it ran fine. so can i just make block off plates for everything?

Electric water pumps are awesome... but pricey. You'll need an electric radiator fan as well (no more belt & pulley to rotate the stocker).

As for emissions stuff... if you don't have to pass any emissions test then all the better!
