Depends on what you do to the L28. Stock should be around 145-150 HP net. Headers (extractors) will give you another 3-5 HP above 5,000 RPM - if you open up the exhaust.
Put good size carbs, higher lift cam in the head, extractors & 2.25-2.5" exhaust and you may get it up to nearly 180 HP. Turbo charge it and you can get 50% more at about 7-9 psi boost. Go all the way to 18 psi and you'll get over 300 HP.

Thanks for the reply Phantom was hoping for 200hp but realise
not doable. So the secound suggestion is the answer L28ET
is gong back in. Have a problem though not to many turbo
setups around here in Aus. They sold the fuel inject models
not the Turbos. The turbos are all imports and finding a good
exhaust manifold might be tricky. If I can find a N54 with p90
head in the wreakers I'll be lucky. Thats what I am hoping for
a crashed one with every thing on. There are plenty of skyline
L20ET around but i have been told by a guy who knows his
Turbo,s to stay clear no where near as good as the L28ET.
Going to slap on the boring L26 twin SU setups untill something
good comes along. 300hp better than 200hp
Thanks agian for the reply!!

You do have other options. Go to www.hybridz.org and read up on alternate 6's and V-8 conversions. Then think about your Z with the new Holden Monaro drivetrain. That is what I have in mine - a 5.7L LS1 and T56.

Depends on if you can find a turbo donor car. The stroker requires the L28 diesel crank out of the Maxima, 240Z connecting rods, 280ZX flattop pistons, and probably a different head. Then all the rotating components have to be very carefully weight matched to reduce vibration. You'll probalby also want a different cam.
Again, I recommend some searches on the HybridZ site. They have done it all and there are enough posts on each subject that a few good search and read sessions will allow you to determine the route you really want to go based on your end goal and the money, time ability you have.

Hi , Guys
Still think going back to the turbo is my best option.
Might take some time to find all the right parts thats OK. The
improvements in power is what I am looking for no point
having a flash looking car without the flash!!
Have thought about V8, RB conversions to much hassles.
Getting a stroker and diesil crank sounds like hard work
for a novice such as myself. No its on to the L28ET half the
work is already done. ( here for a good time not a long time).
Thanks for the food for thought!!
