Most people like it just for its small combustion chamber, which of course gives you a higher compresion. I think its kind of over rated. Unless your running an L24, an L28 w/flat tops with the E31 will give you about 11.5:1 compression. Too much for pump gas.

Personally, I'm a die hard N42 fan. With this head, you still have the square exhaust ports, and it already has steel valve seats. Sure the chambers are a little larger, but with flat tops you'll have about 10:1, perfect for pump gas. I'm just working off my memory, so I may be off a bit.

A great place to find out about the L series heads and their compression ratios is at the ZCARHOMEPAGE
