Anybody know what this is called?
Hey guys I'm currently new to the forums and new to z cars as well. I have a 1978 280z but the rear body panels is messed up. I'm wondering if someone has dealt with this before. It's the panel behind the taillights. Someone help!

No that isn't my car but just a photo from the internet. I'll try to upload a picture of my car tomorrow but I was just wondering if you knew what that back plate was called? On my Z it seems like it was backed into a pole of some sort.

Download and read the FSM. It's very detailed on every part of the car (also see my welcome PM).

I'm thinking it's so integral to the continuous frame and body assembly that it doesn't have a unique name. Or a part number either. It's just a portion of the continuous frame/body assembly - which goes for 360 degrees in all planes.
But you sorta called it "rear metal panel with the taillight holes..." in your previous post. Isn't that clear enough? If you ask for that, nobody's gonna offer you a front bumper assembly or rear quarter panel. I guarantee it.
