I've just had my 280Z a little over a month ( my first car ) and I want to upgrade it, I'm just having trouble finding suspension for it. what setups will work for it? Oh yeah, does anyone know where I can get a reasonable LSD for a good price? one more thing, I need to replace my starter, but it won't come out, any advice?

 

#1: Search eBay for the suspension. You can get a Tokico HP setup with springs for about $500. Coil overs are another story.
#2: You can get an LSD out of a 300ZX, I believe 86-88 turbo automatics or something like that. Look for the finned diff cover, that's the LSD.

As for LSD... expect to pay $600 minimum for one from an 87-89 Z31T, $850 from Nismo, or $1700 from Quaife.


There are 2 bolts to the starter... also disconnect the battery cable from the battery & then from the starter... then the starter should slide right out.

Just go on Ebay.com... type in VLSD and there is a dude on there that sells viscous LSD's for a really good price... im thinking of going w/ a 3:9:1 gearing set up in the rear end and plan on getting it form him.

 

I went with stock springs, urethane bushings (all the way around - every stinking one) and KYB gas struts. You can do all this yourself with a little bit of elbow grease (pretty inexpensive) and it will make a huge difference. Plenty of other things you can do also, but I think made the greatest initial difference and it was cheap to do.
