You would be better off. Getting a new one. They are only like $15 or so. That is what I did before. Then I knew it was good.

the thing is i bought 2 different ones from autozone thinking that they'd be upper and lower but turned out being 2 lower cables. one didn't even look like my original; it had a spring on it.

Okay...scratch those. Neither one of those sites have the upper 280zx cable. Here is one on Ebay right now. Ends in 6 days or so. It is a complete one. Here is the link. Good luck man.
