Last night I moved my Pathfinder out of the driveway to get the Z out of the garage. I parked the Path in front of my house, front tire approximately 8 inches from the curb and back tires about 14 inches from the curb. (we have learned not to park too close to curbs to avoid tire and rim damage). My wife goes out to the truck this morning to put the kids in for school, on the windshield is a parking ticket! Not only is it a parking ticket, its a $190 parking ticket!!! I am at a loss for words here as this is the most rediculous thing I have seen in my 31 years of being alive. Its not a no parking zone, its not from the HOA, its simply because the truck is parked at somewhat of an angle.

I am taking this one to court for sure as the amount for this is simply obsurd. This is not the first rediculous ticket I have recieved. Actually all my tickets except for 1 here have been rediculous. The cops are truely at the bottom of the barrel here with few exceptions.

 

That is pretty rediculous. Is your driveway on a major street or is it inside a neighborhood?

 

See if CPK Law can decrease the price (or eliminate) of the ticket.

he is on the corner, which could be the issue - car parked too far from the curb could theoretically be in the way of someone turning onto his street.
you could have been parked too close to the corner - not too far from the curb. did the ticket provide any specifics?

 

yep, very well could have been my fault. But $190 for a parking ticket, c'mon now. I don't even care if I did something impropper, just make the fine reasonable to the violation. Kind of like a jaywalker being arrested for murder.

 

Yeah, that sounds pretty ridiculous. I've seen cars parked terrible with no such parking tickets on them. It does sound like the police are bored. One night I got pulled over by a cop because my headlight had gone out. He issued me a ticket. Luckily I was able to waive it by fixing the light, but I drive over into the next city and go past 2 cops and they don't even do a double take.

 

HAHA 2 nights ago I got pulled over like 100 feet away from my house. I had just turned onto my street when he put the lights and sirens on. Gave the neighborhood a good show. They pulled me over because they thought I had stolen my car. RIIIIIIGHT.

Parking ticket wise... On my sisters wedding day, my momhad parked one of her turcks down around the corner. Right when we are about to leave for the wedding, mom notices a cop behind the truck. Goes down there to see whats up. Hands her a ticket saying its over 12 inches from the curb. My mom was hella pissed.

 

I want to park a car 12 inches from the curb, measure it with a ruler and then wait for a cop. When he goes to give you the ticket you pull out the ruler and prove it.

 

Wow. Gotta agree with you on that one. Didn't know parking tickets were that much other than in Handicap zones. You should have gotten a picture of how the truck was parked with the ticket on the window, and a pic with a ruler by the curb. That would probably have gotten that one dropped.


BTW, you don't have any anti-donut decals on the car do you?

in a school in mid day ..i took pictures of the streets befor the school zone.. showing the judge that the school zone signs are kind of messed up hidden by trees ,there all old and faded and that i didnt see any of them ..LIES ALL LIES .he didnt beleave me untell ....
