police and speeding
last night, it was raining in sacramento. I love driving my Z in the rain, because I can spin the tires and slide easier than normal. I was just crusing around, and I came to this light with three lanes, the right one being a merge lane into the middle lane. When I pulled up to the light, I was in the merge lane, and right next to me was a newer white pontiac grand prix. When the light turned green, the grand prix and I both took off, but that was when I realized the grand prix wanted to race. I kept up pace with him, the front of my Z ahead of his car. When it came right down to the merge point, he switched lanes to allow me to enter the lane that he was in at the time. We were going maybe 70 down this street, which has a 45 mph speed limit. When the grand prix switched lanes, we still kept racing, but he decided to slow down and follow me around. As soon as he dropped in speed and got back behind me, all you hear is a police siren, and lights. I knew that the officer was after me and the grand prix. We both pulled over, the sheriff stepped out of his squad car, and walked up to our cars, one by one. When the sheriff walked over to my car, he asked me "what were you doing, son?" I merely replied "officer, I'm just being stupid, that's all". The sheriff took my license, registration, and proof of insurance, and went back to his squad car. After sitting on the side of the road for a good 5 mins., the sheriff came back and gave us our papers and licenses. The sheriff came to my window, and said "you live right around the corner, right?" I replied with "yes sir". He then said "here's all your paperwork crap, now go ahead and head home." The officer let me off without a ticket, and just let me go. That's the nicest an officer has been with me, and I appreciate law enforcement a little more now.

that's too bad. he should've done what he was supposed to: which is impound your Z, thrown your *** in jail for the night, and called your parents to bail you out, resulting in a misdemeanor charge for your license, suspension for 30 days, and $1000 impound fees for teh car which would be there for a month.
That would teach you not to "slide around" in the rain and race people in wet weather going nearly double the speed limit.

My dad had my 1970 240 impounded once in Las Vegas. He didnt tell me about it for a week. When I went there to get it the windows where busted out the seats where gone and so were the rims ,engine ,tranny and rearend. And they wanted 1200 to get it out. So need less to say I left it there.
