Ok, well my car finally really died. I don't have spark or fuel at the injectors. I took it to a shop and they told me that it was either the ECU or the distributor. They said they tried to test it to find out but they had no idea. So, they said it was up to me. Is there any way to find out so I don't waste money on buying both.

 

Fusable links fuses ! um......see if you can borrow a ecu from the wreckers or something.. plug it in and see if it works

 

Give me a call @ 820-9563 (you're still in salina, right?) I've got a couple ecu's you can try. I really doubt thats your problem tho. If it is, I'll sell you one. Just curious, did you ever get the boost turned up on that thing? It's been a while since I talked to you about it.

Well, I found out it was niether the ECU or the Distributor, but the ECCS computer. The machanic tried to order one from a salvage yard but they sent the wrong one. They are still trying to find the right one. Hey, spork i'll try and get a hold of you so we can get together some time. Oh and to answer your question, yes I did get the boost turned up. I'm sure there are some other things I still need to do.

 

Um...what mechanic are you taking your car to...I don't think they know what they're talking about. That or there is some confusion of terms. The eccs(electronic concintrated engine control system) is an "ecu" on the turbo cars. These mechanics, whoever they are don't seem to have a clue. The eccs is a combination of several items: turbocharger, crank angle sensor, egr valve, aac valve, vacuum control modulator, barometric pressure sensor, detomation sensor, speed sensor, fuel pump control modulator, and the power transistor. Thats the eccs system. They're all controlled by that little black box (light blue if yours is an auto tranny) on the drivers side kick panel (sometimes mistakenly called an ecu). I really think these mechanics are in way over thier head. If you give me a call I can sort this out for you much cheaper than these yahoos. Your buddy said you were paying like $400 for that eccs. Guess what, there's one on ebay for like $25. the auction will probably end before you get this tho.
