turn key...vroom...brbrbrbrrrr...dead...turn key...vroom...GOOD.

about 40% of the time when I start me 280ZX, it starts fine and right away and everything, but then it slowly dies like its not getting enough fuel or something, but second start works perfect every time. any one else have this problem and/or know why and how to fix?

haha, thats probably one of the most creative thread titles I've seen... I'm not sure, but you could try adjusting the air fuel ratio screw... i did that on mine, about a half turn, and it made my Z idle at a higher RPM, and NEVER died anymore... There is a thread about it somewhere. I think Icice9 took a pic of where it's located under your hood.

Mine did that so bad that it finally stalled out and wouldn't start again. I yanked the ECU and cleaned the contacts, put some of that die-electric grease on it....16.95 completly stock. No complaints here.

However-- You might want to look at your cold start valve too. The Haynes guide has step by step instructions as how to test it.

Thanks guys, I'll look for that thread, and the 60% of the time when it doesn't die is when I succesfully "work" the throttle and make my girl roar!... you know I mean the car...right.

Oh, about the tittle, It's like a gift...you know... I just let those vioces come out and talk on occasion, and sometimes it can turn out catchy, other times it's like, um...ok.

When you go to start your car, turn the key to the position before the start position and let it sit for a second. That will let the fuel pump charge the lines. When you hear the fuel pump stop, try starting the car. Also, change your fuel filter.

I haven't noticed the oil presure light being on, but it could probably use a change. Thanks again.
