I just bought a 73z a few weeks ago. However when I drove home it home she died. I tried jumping and charging the battery but it was dead. So I bought a new gel wrapped battery(900/700amps) and she still won’t turn over. Is it the alternator or the ignition system? Also is it possible to blow the alternator by mismatching the terminals. Sorry if theses are really silly questions. I’m new to the Z, carburetion, this car is way beyond my gen. SO help me out please thanks!

 

if you mismatched the terminals you probably blew your starter
