There is no way that our government will forcefully take away your firearm just because of the type of firearm it is unless it was illegally obtained or used while committing a crime.

I have to say, I don't entirely understand the resistance against actions being taken against large rifles. In my opinion if you need an AR15 to go deer hunting then you don't need to be hunting at all. If you're a collector then so be it, more power to you. I definitely have no qualms whatsoever against people that have a passion for guns and collect them as a hobby, but I do have a complete lack of understanding as to how someone could possibly need a semi-auto carbine rifle. Want? Yes. Need? No.

Obama had superior speech writers, and more money in his campaign. That is why he is President. Not because he was more qualified. My biggest fear is that some ******* will try and take him out. Some supremacist group.
I hate the fact that I can talk to most minorities, and argue why they voted for Obama, and they can't back anything up. I think the race card was overplayed by the people. I have even used Sterns tactics when talking to some people.

"So, what made you vote for Obama?"
"He didn't have negative ads, (what?) He was a better speaker" (He can read speeches written by others?)
Do you like that he picked Palin for vice president?
Oh yeah, she's awesome! (He didn't, lmao)
How do you feel about Obama's decision to maintain forces in Iraq until Victory is achieved, and we don't end up with another 'Vietnam' type failure?
"That's a great idea, why pull out and accomplish nothing because nothing was setup to fix the problem?" (Oh wait, that was McCain too.)

Agree with that or not. That is why you choose who you want to be the leader of the nation. You are doing harm to the system by voting if you don't understand what you are voting for. I spent hours on props, judges, officials, and candidates. Writing up a cheat sheet, so that when I got to the poll I did not make a mistake on what I felt was going to benefit our nations growth, and people well being of interests. That is our job. Listening to the news does not cut it.

You can argue that he was a better candidate. I don't think he has the experience or proof of action that McCain had. That's a personal opinion.

But, I hate to see people vote for someone that they know little about, just because they think he's black. You can't tell me that didn't happen.

You can't trust a politician further than you could throw them. In fact a guess of how high they will bounce when they hit the ground is much easier than guessing what they will make happen when they hit office.

You have to go to their past and see what they actually accomplished. Try and figure out what they will be able to do with the experience and drive when they hit the big office.

I wish McCain was black.
That would have made for an interesting outcome.

That reminds me. Political correctness...
What is an "African American" called in another country?
Would they be a African German? An African Scotsman? Or are they just black? Not being racist. Just believe in calling a spade a spade. I know a few people from Africa. Ironically they are white. I think political correctness, and people worrying about offending other cultures are widening the gap of our great nation. Everyone is different. Accept that. Don't try and avoid it. It's a good thing. Call me white. I don't mind. Don't call me an Anglo-American.
Would it be racist to have White Entertainment Television?
Why is it okay to have BET?

I don't get people, and the media warping and diminishing open minds and opinions. Not that I blame the media so much as our own people. But, they have the power to get the information to the biggest mass of people, and they cannot even choose all the information in an unbiased way if they really wanted to.

God Bless America, and I hope that our new president will prove me wrong. I am seriously wanting to join the Air Force or Army, and will back him up regardless. That will be my duty. It would however be much easier if I respected the guy. I have a hard time respecting most politicians.

If the **** hits the fan, I voted for McCain. So did 47% of the popular vote. Don't get me started on the archaic electoral college. Obamas popular vote was at 53%. His electoral percentage of points was at 68%. How is that representation? Crap. I got started.

Rant off...

Start a thread like this, and there will be arguements. I was shocked to see it go this far before there were.

obama IS a great speech writer and presenter himself though. just fyi. also, i dont think anyone has to worry about their guns. he did have more campaign money though but its from the mass support, without the support you wouldnt have the money so not like you can argue that people didnt like him if they want to support more power to you for getting the support. also, zombies is a very reasonable thing to worry about and here is why:

seriously, it could happen. ever hear of mad cow disease? picture that but for humans instead. basically what 28 days and 28 weeks later is based on, non of them died, they just became infected with fear, a real thing. and could be killed by normal means

Sadly this is true. This is one of the reasons that I believe that before your vote is made official you should have to answer some basic questions regarding both major party's candidates. It's absolutely baffling to me to hear some of the responses for people that were voting for either McCain or Obama. I've spoken to so many people that said "I'm voting for McCain because we can't have a muslim terrorist in office," just like I've spoken with Obama supporters that said "Because we need change, a black man in the white house."

It's disgusting to say the least that these peoples votes actually count towards a decision that effects the entire country for the next four years.

Is this not the saddest damn thing ever? Case in point with my views on having to prove some level of simple understanding about the policies that both candidates put forth before their vote is valid.

An opinion that I can respect as I agree completely. When it came down to it I chose to vote for Obama because I personally believe that his economic policies would be more beneficial to us as a country than McCain's. If the economy weren't an issue then my vote wouldn't have been contested, it would've been McCain all the way. The only thing that would've made me second guess my vote for McCain at that point in time would be Sarah Palin, whom I still can't believe was even close to stepping foot in the white house without being a tourist.

If I could buy you a beer for this I would. I'm so sick and damn tired of the phrase "African American," especially since I think it's safe to say that 90% of those with that label have never stepped foot on African soil, are of no direct African decent, and a large majority of them have no understanding whatsoever of African culture and heritage.

This is a pet peeve of mine. People need to stop being so damn PC and just be straight for once. Black is black, white is white, asian is can't drive. It's all good.

(jk of course)

I can honestly say that if McCain had been elected back in 2000-2004 instead of Bush I would be in the military right now. If you do finally decide to join I wish you the best of luck and you have my immense respect. As for your comment about respecting politicians.. well.. welcome to the party, lol.
