talon lives!

well, yesterday i fully finished up the talon, go to crank it, and it just starts! then dies, no fuel pressure built, crank again and starts right up! great spark! only problem, my number 4 cylinder isn't firing, the injector is probably dead, i think its the one i dropped. fawk! i say this cause its the one that doesn't have the pintle cap on it. the other problem is the shifter cables need adjusting since i can't reach ears 1 and 2 and then it seems i might have some bad lifters. stupid stock hydraulic lifters. theres a recall on them, but im going to try to fix the other stuff and see if the lifters will just bleed out in a hundred miles about, if not, gotta tear back into it and replace them. which isn't a big deal, but, if i do that i have to try and find some after market cams, if i'm going back in there and removin the cams i want to do the stuff i should. only problem is i didn't forsee this problem and got a new helmet. UGH! so im going to have a credit card bill of like 450 dollars at the end of the month. **** **** ****!!! selling my old helmet though. anyone want it? 100 bucks shipped.... new HJC CL-15 cyclone graphics black white and silver. only worn about 20 times tops. clear and blue mirror visor. haha. ugh.... anyone got DSM aftermarket cams laying around? or some 3rd gen lifters? haha. as for the injectors, i'll be contacting fuelinjectorclinic and see what they charge for a rebuild.

Are all your engine and transmission mounts bolted down correct?

I had a engine mount break in the Pulsar. The engine/tranny dropped a little and then I couldn't reach gears 2, 4, and R.

yeah, they are all bolted right, however i got new solid mounts and the engine seemed to be a tighter fit, but more in a horizontal issue not a vertical manner plus the mounts were cleverly made to only fit in their specific spot and orientation so i know the mounts can't themselves be wrong. i'll double check just to be safe, you might be somewhat right that its torqued some way, but i don't think its anything i can fix... unless.... i think my dad mighta stuck the wrong size bolt in the front mount, which would cause the motor to **** downward about 1/8 of an inch, possible just enough for my issue.... not to shabby of an idea.

You could always lift the engine slightly with a jack to take the pressure off. Then see if the shifting through the gears changes. (while parked with the engine off obviously)

your engine is pretty funny for shitting downward on your garage dude.

sucks to hear it may have been a bad investment if you just did a full rebuild and are already having more significant problems.

i can probably get 850cc injectors for a while for free from my buddy, the car needs 3rd gen lifters anyways, sucks i didn't think of that earlier though and as for the shifter, i thought about it, the mounting bracket is on the tranny itself so no matter what position the trans was in, it should all be relative to the bracket so its not the angle the engine is sitting in, its just the larger shifter arms on the trans itself, i got an all new interior anyways so while swapping that out i'll adjust the shifter and hope for the best.
