cops n z's
i could not travel between sd n la for two years without being stopped for excessive speed or tint too dark--all BS except when the chp was in my blind nspot for 5 miles--but, you can FEEL their bad bow wave of air pushing your car around instead of seeing them. evil sorts, egging one on into trouble then stopping to write tix for their coffers! z's SHOULD be given escort!!!

I usually don't see cops, unless I've done something really wrong. I have yet to be given a ticket in the Z, because I watch what I do and I obey the law. Don't get me wrong, I speed when the situation is safe, my exhaust is loud (2.5" pipe straight back to melted out glasspack) but no tickets because I'm never caught doing anything wrong. I have been given vehicle abatement tickets for having my car on the street without an engine in it, but that's pretty much it. I recieved another abatement ticket not too long ago, but had it waived because the car was undergoing an insurance appraisal.
I was given a few tickets in my 94 Ranger though. I got a ticket for doing 85 in a 65 (on the freeway), a ticket for no front license plate, and a ticket for expired smog. All of the tickets, with the exception of the speeding ticket, were easily fixed.

cmon, fast 240... we gotta tear it up here in elk grove... give those new officers something to do... actually, I know a couple of them so I try not to mess around too much... Its those Sacramento motorcycle cop brigades that carpet bomb certain areas of town. Is it really necessary for 5-6 bike cops in a 1 mile radius?!
But like I said, fixit tickets are great for the unmotivated restoration project car!

I try to stay away from Elk Grove PD. No offense to anyone, but they are all dicks. I remember my friend was driving his Saturn SC2, and went around a corner just a little too fast. He squealed the tires, but just barely, no smoke, no drift, nothing, just took it a little too fast. He was ticketed for 20 in a 15, exibition of speed, and wreckless driving.
I personally like the Sacramento County Sheriffs, because they seem to be pretty reasonable. With Elk Grove PD, most of the guys have nothing to really do, except for hand out bs tickets (like expired smog while the vehicle was parked outside of Best Buy-where I work) but the Sac County guys have more to take care of, and are more realistic when it comes to tickets. I've been pulled over from doing burnouts in my truck, or racing in my Z. Each time I was polite to the officer, and just told him "Sorry officer, I was just being stupid", and they let me go with a warning. I was even driving home on Christmas, and was doing 55 in a 45, with expired registration by a month. Sac County pulled me over, and I just explained that I wanted to get home, and that I was tired. He looked at my ID and insurance, ran my record, saw I had a few accidents, and talked to me about slowing down a little. We had a lighthearted conversation, and he let me go home to my family, scot free. He didn't even write me a ticket for my registration!
Even when I was given the ticket for my license plate, the officer explained what I had to do to get it fixed, and was very helpful.
Elk Grove PD just have nothing to do. Maybe they should come over and lend a hand farther over in Sac County.

I had a CHP officer tell me I was doing 60 in a 45. Problem was that I was driving an Escort, I pulled out of a parking lot and by the time I got to the intersection he claimed I was doing 60mph. Said intersection was about 30-40ft from where I pulled out. I dont know, but the last time I checked a Ford Escort didn't have a 0-60 run that was very impressive. I explained that to him and he eventually let me go. ********. He kept saying how he should write me up for wreckless driving cause I pulled out too fast Sometimes they just dont have anything better to do.
