I haven't had facebook in years as well, totally lost interest in it and socializing that way, it was more annoying than anything!

^ Glad you agree as you are one of the few. lol Yeah it causes people to lose touch with reality. And actually talking and hanging out with people in the real world. I get bored after a time of sitting at the computer. That is mainly why I hang out with my bro and friends twice a week.
Not putting down people for socializing on the web and such. Because there are those that can still socialize with people in the real world. Just the sad thing is....a good majority of people can't because of the internet. Just my 2 cents....carry on

Come on WildmaN, that's like saying "all people die if they drive a car, so I'm never going to get my driver's license." I understand you don't like FB, but your assumptions are far from correct.
I've actually met a lot of car guys on FB and hung out with them in "reality". Local car meets... cars & coffee, etc.
Maybe it was all a dream?

I kinda agree with WildmaN. For me the problem with Facebook (Google, too, the whole lot of them...) is that they compile a data file for you personally, and not just everything you say on line but also everyone you talked with, when you talked to them, everywhere you go, what sites you visited (every friggin' one of them!), everything you ever read on line, everything you looked for, why you were looking for it, if you found it, what you paid and what you did with it, whether you were happy with it - and why or why not.
That data file knows exactly who you are and where you live, your age, marital status, job, address, phone numbers, personal habits, etc., etc, That data file lasts forever. They never have to delete it. Ever.
And then, to make matters interesting, they sell (or just give) your data file to thousands of other companies or the govt - and never offer you even a small piece of their profit, even tho it's all your own personal data. If you didn't use their service, they would have no data to sell. They are not grateful to you for any of it. They never even say thanks. They don't want you to care that they are collecting, saving and selling it.
I think it's cool that thousands of Z drivers hang out on FB now and trade info, but most of them would probably agree that the personal data file thing is just creepy - if they knew about it - no matter how cool FB may seem on the surface. They probably don't think about it.
As for Google, they save all your searches, your bank card numbers, accounts, and they read all your emails and collect all that data into your Google file. Forever. Nothing is private, ever, on Google. All that data about you is for sale, for lend or for hack, forever.
From my perspective, if you want to know, just for example, what kind of underwear I wear, where I buy them, what size they are, how often I wash and change them and what color I like, you can just ask me. Maybe I'll tell you and maybe I won't. But at least I know you asked me and I had the choice to tell you or not. I don't have that choice on Facebook, Google, etc. They will sell you that info when they collect it. Or maybe give it to you if they owe you a favor... Or maybe a hacker will just steal it one day. It's my data but I have no control over where it goes. That just freaks me out.
For the guys on FB, just ask FB if you can please read your whole file to make sure it's accurate. Just say you like to fix old Zs - and so you want to help them 'tune up' your file, to help them get it running right!
