AEBS stroker kit
AEBS stroker kit
I've been debating about getting the AEBS 4.3L stroker kit, but I've heard that there are some inherent issues with it. Something about since the block on the VQ35 is kinda weak, doing the stroker kit makes it impossible for boost.
Has anyone else heard about these issues?

The 4.3L is a bit large for boost. The problem is that to get 4.3L you need to bore the block in addition to installing the stroker kit. Boring the block that much is fine for a race motor that gets torn down and inspected on a regular basis, but it make the cylinder walls a bit thin to stand up to daily driver abuse. The stroker kit by itself will be fine if you plan on boosting, but only bore the block enough to ensure your cylinders are round. This will probably yield around 3.7 to 3.8L. I plan on using the Crawford stroker kit with an almost-stock bore.

GT Motorsports sells a 4.24 stroker kit which IMO is the better kit. People have had major craptastic times fixing the AEBS stroker kit getting it to finally work.
There's 2 people right now who have taken the power up to around 855whp with the 4.24 stroker kit. The thing is bombproof because of the darton sleeves it uses
If the kit didn't include new sleeves and you simply just bored out the sleeves and left the block in open deck format, that'd be pretty stupid to boost because then it'd be just like what you're talking about
