Stereo Head Unit switch-out on '07

Guys, I recently bought a '07 350Z Enthusiast, so it has the basic single CD head unit that is not XM satilite compatible, etc. etc. I have located an '06 350Z Bose 6-CD Head unit that came out of a Touring OEM version. I want to keep the functionality of the stereo controls in the steering wheel, but I would like to integrate my iPod without adding alot of crap. I have found a wiring harness that plugs in between the factory harnesses to give me AUX RCA connectors that I can use for my iPod interface (I've got a FM transmitter and don't like the quality) My questions are as follows:
1) I believe that the '06 and '07 head units are the same - is this correct?

2) Is there an issue with changing these OEM units out regarding just using the head unit for output wattage? I figure that the standard Bose system has individual amps at each speaker like my older 300ZX Z32s had - correct?

Any 'solid' help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I am doing that at the same time - Thanks!
My350Z site addresses the '06 but not '07 (which I thought the head units are the same - but....). I checked Crutchfield, and they claim that the USA iPod interface that My350Z suggests, even with the non-Bose unit, will not work with the '07 regardless of which head unit you have.

I thought the Bose had remove amps but never heard that they were at the speakers. I believe those amps will be an issue. You will need to install them as well.

On the Z32s, there was a Bose amp at each of the speakers. I understand from further reseach that the Bose head unit uses the Bose amp in the trunk area (so they are not individual ones in the 350Z version). I wanted the 6 CD changer and ease of iPod interface that I thought that the Bose head unit offered, but it does not appear to be an easy swap out for the base head unit to the Bose. I am not particularly fond of the Bose system. I would sacrafice the stereo steering wheel controls and go aftermarket all the way before I would change over to the stock Bose system. Realize that this is personal preference - no offense!
I changed out the Bose systems in my Z32s in the past, I can do this again. Since I just bought the '07 350Z, and I had an opportunity to buy the Bose Head unit pretty cheap, I thought that it was worth investigating, and will continue to do so until I can find a solution that I can live with.
