i was lookin more along the lines of a list. I have two cars, Both are 1992 model Z32s. ONe is my slicktop N/a and the other is my Twin turbo t top. The twin turbo has been wrecked, and the chassis may be twisted. The engine is mechanically soundm just needs some care and attenion. I have both complete cars, and I am wanting to just awitch motors. I want both to be running...granted the chassis of the TT is good. I know i will need to keep the tranny and engines together, b/c there is alot of work required to put a TT 5spd into a N/A. The flywheel, clutch are different. Are there any parts on my N/A..that wont bolt right up to the TT once in the n/a chassis. I ve heard the power steerin is different with its mounts. And i kow i will need to cut and weld the brackets for the IC and IC pipes. But what else.....?

It cant cost that much for me to do it. I ve got two complete cars sitten outside already. 2500 at the most is what i ve estimated. But thats with minimal upgrades, me doing all the work. With help from a FEW good buddies.

I m not one to give up pn a prpject. If I m goin to start it I will research it ALOT before just diving in. Thats why I am subsribed to this site. I look at every possible aspect of the job, then I go for. I wont cut courners for ease, and I will stop and ask for help. i m not afraid to admit I do not know, and I need help. I just know, I feel. With what have learned,a nd with the resources available to me. That i can pull the project off.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I remember her posting it on her. I read that and it was very detailed. I can't remember how much she said she spent on the whole swap, but I was amazed it was rather cheap.

IMPORTANT questions about boost

i'm doing an entire tt front clip swap on my 1990 NA zx...and i'm just curious what boost levels the tt runs from the factory, and i've been told that with stock everything, i can safely turn the boost up to 17psi for a possible 350rwhp or so (dont hate me if i'm wrong, that's just what i've read on z1motorsports.com)...and by stock everything i mean the bigger things like intercoolers and injectors and what not...i will obviously be doing cat back exhaust, a k&n cone filter, BOV's and boost controller...

as much as i'd like to believe what i read on z1 i need to hear from people about their own personal experiences...i feel safer getting as many opinions as i can. what do some of you guys think i should turn it up to boost wise for maybe track use or a dyno run on rare occasions, what you thinnk i can run daily, and how much power you think i should be able to expect to put down?

this is my first thread/post, i was on UBRF.ORG for a long time, a local western new york thread...but they might have different rules, so if i've broken any or formatted anything wrong be nice and gentle with me...i catch on fast

heres some stuff from 3zc

http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=42374

i think stock boost is 9.5psi

you wont be able to boost up to 17 psi without other mods like larger injectors

you can crank the boost up that high, but only after you run a higher octane gas. The knock index of pump gas wont handle it unless you do some other work. Atleast thats what John at Z1 told me

N20 will never find a home near my Z32 i dont care if they paid me. Even tho when used correctly it is safe. you can't just monkey Fu#k your upgrades and hope you come out on top, our motors are already pissy. If you don't have the money to do it correctly why did you buy a Z?

With that said.

As for the TT 2+2 go for it just DIY and put the saved $$ into upgrades. It isn't hard at all just a bunch of little things that are diff betweenthe 2 motors, hell the NA ecu will run the VG30DETT fine with an aftermarket boost controller.

Just did a NA jdm swap to get my z back on teh road for winter, then spring it gets the TT dropped in, after i finish helping a friends 240sx > rb25det project.

the internals will be fine but def. pop charger, exhaust(turbo back), boost controller. and for 17 i would recomend intercoolers and 555cc injectors. also run higher octane gas to prevent det.. but with all that it would be fine.

You can get 17 psi out of these things on pump gas. Z1 advised me that I could go to 17 w/ 555's, IC's. Turbo's probably won't last very long, but detonation shouldn't be a problem; even on 91 octane. I'll run 15 psi under normal conditions and 17 occasionally. Stock internals can handle up to the 600-650rwhp range.
