sounds like a scratchy rubbing noise. it seems to com from the lower corner of the windshield on the passengers side from under the hood somewhere. what could this be. its a kinda slow rub too. like a half note or something.

 

Check your tire. Make sure the upper a-arm isn't rubbing against it. If it is you either have an under inflated tire or your alignment is way off.
Also check, while you're there, that the inner fender lining isn't rubbing against your tire.
Is the hood loose? Check the bolts that hold the hood to the hinges. Try raising the hood stops that are at the front corners of the engine compartment. Is the battery tight? If not that could be sliding around causing your noise.

 

it does it while idle just sitting in the driveway.
