I'm glad I found this forum! I am a long time Z lover and am now driving my fourth - a 1991 Twin Turbo. I owned a 240 in high school, a 260 in college and restored a 1977 280 in the late 90's. I always loved the Z32, but at +/- $40k new, it was way out of my price range. I am now at a point in life where I was able to pay cash for this clean, bone-stock 1991 example and am very slowly getting it tip-top.

The project I will begin working soon is the 120k service. My shop insists on OEM Nissan Water Pump, Timing Belt, etc. but since I work in the auto parts industry I can source these from Nissan at a lower cost. The problem I am having is that while I have microfiche and part number listings for all of the other OEM's - Nissan Part #'s are not so easy to find online.

I am guessing this question has been asked before, and I apologize in advance if I am being redundant - but can anyone direct me to a resource with complete listings for Nissan OEM part numbers? I have looked all over Courtesy Parts, however the part # they list is an internal number that they use (it appears) rather than the "standard" Nissan part number...

Welcome to the forums. The link below will take you to Courtesy Nissan. They have an online catalog that should get you the part numbers that you're looking for.

Unfortunately their part numbers are only partial - not the complete number as far as I can tell... I'll double check now though and advise.

Yep, unfortunately Courtesy does not list the "full" part number... I wish I knew why Nissan is the single OEM that is so mysterious about their part numbers...

I was looking for the fuel lines at the Fuel Filter (outlet & return line) that have the plastic heat-resistant sleeve. Actual Nissan part number is 16440N-30P01 (x2pc) for the hose. Courtesy lists it as "16440-FLZ32" however the real part number is indeed different.

So, back to my original question - anybody know where I can get actual Nissan part numbers/microfiche for the Z32? I thought about ordering one of the eBay repair manuals on CD for this car as it claims to have part numbers... any thoughts?

Maybe it's my computer, but when I click the various links nothing happens other than a URL change with no additional information (I assumed that clicking the link would 'drill down' to a subcategory). If this works it would be exactly what I need!

 

oooooooohhhhh..... strange... it's doing that for me now too.

What it SHOULD do is sub-categories, then exploded views with parts to click on, then it'll give you a page with the complete part number as well as a price and the option to order it from Concept Z Performance.

Let me see if it's a link problem. If I fix it, I'll be back.

 

I'm not auto-savvy by any means but if it helps I can tell you every time I've had a shop try to put in some generic or rebuilt part my car has just DESTROYED it. 2 Alternators, water pump, brake master cylinder, one fuel injector and something else I can't put my finger on......Nissan parts are the way to go, it's just the nature of this car.

 

sorry if these is lame or like inconvinient, but couldnt you just go to the nearst nissan dealer and have there parts/shop look up the parts numbers? i know ive done it before..... not with nissan though but apples and oranges.... w/e that means. lol. only suggesting that incase randy cant get his link up.

 

That's not a bad idea. I encourage others to go in and waste the time of those a-holes at the dealership.

 

LOL, the problem is I'd be wasting my time too! When I was searching for those fuel lines, I did have my Nissan dealer fax me the parts diagram and he gave me the part #'s I was seeking - I just don't want to have to do that EVERYTIME. I suppose I could just suck it up and pay retail through Courtesy or someone else... We get a weekly delivery at my office for Nissan OEM parts and it's just too convenient not to take advantage.

 

I agree with you to an extent, there are certain things that I will source only from Nissan - rotating electrical parts being one of them. Water Pump, timing belt are others. Basic maintenance parts like brakes, drive belts, water hoses, filters, etc. I have no problem with aftermarket.

 

Oh yeah, the brakes and other things that normally fall into the "wears out normally" catagory I will go after-market. Not just for being cost-effective but more modern composite materials just make things better. Tires, brake pads, fuel and water lines....yeah, I'll go up to date on those in a heartbeat. Plus I can ride my brakes to death and Midas has to replace them for free for the rest of my life
