Need serious help guys

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and new to the z in general. I bought a 90 NA a few months ago and now it has a running problem and I don't really know where to start. The car takes a while to start after sitting overnight and when I try to drive it it bogs down as soon as I touch the accellerator. I checked for codes and there was a code for ignition signal and a ECT sensor and FT sensor. I have checked for obvious things such as vacuum and fuel pressure. Where do I go from here? Any help would be appreciated.

where you from? and sounds fuel/spark related... or vacummme but if you checked it maybe not. it is possible to miss stuff. but most likely spark if it is throwing an ignition code. do you know if the PTU was ever replaced? the early Z32's have a recall on them. the old ones look like a big heat sink. and could need to replace those sensors. if they are bad. comtimes **** gets thrown with an ignition code. but if sensors have failed cars usually run in safe mode and will run like crap somewhat similare to what you are discribing...

Start with the 3 error codes that were kicked out and move from there. Report back after you've addressed those three items.

Ok, so i finally got a chance to work on the car today and I did a compression check, 3 of 6 are at 80 or below and the others are fine. The car has some autolites(of course, of wouldn't expect anything else, well maybe bosch) in it, they look fairly new though maybe the previous owner changed them before he sold it. I adjusted the tps senosr a bit and it ran a good 15 minutes before it started action like it was missing again. My fuel pump is herendously loud and it seem like the car was starving for fuel. I don't have a fuel pressure tester on hand but that is going to be the next thing I check when I get some time. Has anymore else ran into a bad fuel pump and make the car act like this?

wow.. that 80 is gonna drag on your performance... and is a problem. is this a TT or an N/A? if the fuel pump is loud its most likely going out then.

Since it's starving for compression, I'd fix that first. Some fuel pumps are loud, including mine when cold.

throw away those junk autolites and put in the proper, factory specced NGK plus.

80 compression = not good at all. way below factory specs. rebuild son. you need a rebuild.

I thinking about doing the swap but tight on money right now so it has to wait. I have a feeling that its something electrical and when the cars warms up or when that particular component warms up its giving me problems. I downloaded the service manual and started looking for the feedback wire from the igniton module to the computer but I couldn't find it. The autolites deffinitely has to go, I just don't know what else has to go with it. On a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is it to do a tt swap on a 2+2? Parts that I would need that will save me time and aggrevation in the future, and just parts that is need to get the thing going? Any help would be appreciated guys.

the TT swap topic has been covered ad-nauseum. a search on the subject will yield more than sufficient information to get you on the right track.

so today I took off all the injector connectors and they all had pretty bad corrosion on them. I used a cleaner and took it all off, pluged them back in hoping that the car would drive fine. It doesn't, however I can drive it up to about 2000 rpm no problem and free reev to about 2700rpm before it would act like it was runing out of fuel. I am so tempted to just replaced the fuel pump but im not one to throw parts at a car. I want to know that I am giving it what it needs, saves me time and money. Does anyone know if this car has a dual stage pump? What are the chances its not the pump and the pump computer instead? I feel like im so close to getting this thing on the road. Off topic, I need opinions on the interior of the car. It has brown and white interior now, I want to go black and red, the ex is black and will remain that way. Do we all agree or does anyone have other choices?

I live in New Port Richey Florida, the car fires up and runs fine for a bit then it doesn't reev like it should. I think I'm just going to fo buy a fuel pressure tester. I am going to need it in the future anyway.
