My new drag racing project

Hello, some of you may remember me from a few months ago when i was here asking for turbo parts and info. We'll movment on my 240sx project is moving along but school is killing me.

Any way to the new info. I finnaly got pictures of my 300zx up on my website, I was wanting to make it a track day car but unfortunatly the cost for what i want is a little more then i can afford.

So i will be turning this Z32 into a

Small Block Chevy 4 bolt main 350,383,400ci motor
Big valve aluminum heads
125hp shot of nitrous (for starters)
Hurst racing shifter
700R4 automatic trans with all the goodies 2000 stall, corvette servo, shift kit,Trans brake, etc

It will be streetable but it probobly wont ever do more then annoy the neighboors or take people out for quick 2000rpm launches, I have access to the parts cheap and i have a drag strip 30 minutes away. For me this is the economical way to go fast.

So if you wana check it out go to: www.ramirezracing.blogspot.com

P.S. I apologize in advance for any photos or thoughts that will be hard for all true nissan lovers to take, for example putting this basterdized creation together.

Happy building

why the HELL a Z32???? those cars need their motors, and though im not into bastardizing any Z you should have used an S30 and saved it from its demise or something. MUCH better combination.

haha, my my my, its so beautiful when the purists cry.
even so, i do tend to agree with snow on an S30 being a better patient for an SBC heart transplant, unless you're doing the SBC because of parts availability and maintenance reasons. I hear Z32's are regular finicial leeches when it comes to keeping them running.

As far as picking the chasis it was easy because i got this car for free. Next i had to find a reason and meaning for it. I love cars so i put together all my dreams and then came up with these options.

Rebuild stock VG30DE and 5 spd conversion 2200
swap in a jdm VG3ODETT 5 spd conv 5000 (atleast with upgrades)
v-8 conversion bracket racer 3200 (plus safty equipment)

The bracket raceing route will be the cheapest venture with the highest gains.

4 bolt main S.B.C. 400whp maybe 1500 (rebuilt), keep in mind i have alot of friends here that run these motors and have lots of worn out motors that just need rebuilds. Its the same with the trans.
The trans will also be around a 700

Then the drive shaft, wiring, motor mounts, and fuel pump. Yes i realize there will be some little unexpected expensis but i love fabrication so i dont realy consider that an expense. Also this will be expanding my automotive hands on knowledge. I already stuck a 502 in a 240z (woops ) so this should be easier.

I just cant afford to build this kind of performance out of any of the other options.
