This morning my Hicas light turned on and I was slighty loosing power steering. I was going around 65mph when it happend. My Abs light turned on also when I hit the brake hard. When I got home I check the Hicas fluid resevoir and it was full. I turned off the car and turned it back on. Eeverything went back to normal power steering and Abs light never came back on. What can I do to fix this problem!!!!

P.S. I have a 1990 300ZXTT

 

How's your speedometer working? Since the HICAS is speed sensative, a bad speed sensor could cause a condition like that if it's occuring at a certain speed (that's the cause in my case).

I'd say it could be a bad HICAS system, but in my entirely Z life (and in my entire career at Ultimate Z) I only ever even heard of 1 HICAS system failing and it was on a 96.

The Hicas ligt started to come on after the ABS light came on. When I got home from a 45 min. drive I turned off the car and turn it back on the system is back to normal again. The power steering is working properly.

 

if it's in conjunction with the ABS light, I know EXACTLY what it is... it's a fuse.
