guys
i just had the most awefull hour in my life,i was out side my house watering the tulips
yeah right, and went to warm up my z,i was dumb enough to close without cheking if the power locks were on,guess what?yeah i locked the car with both keys inside with the windows up,im so pissed off,i had to forced the window by sliding a ruler through the top of the glass and the t tops, then sliding this metal thing to try to roll down the window wich scratch my t top,but not to serious, and also i think i messed up the rear hatch locked,by trying to open it with a tool driver, you know the way they do it in the movies, let me tell you guys something, that shhhh dont work, here goes my question,in case this happens again, wich i dont plan it will, whats the safest way to open up a z without having to call a lock smith, the other question is when trying to open the rear hatch you guys know that piece of metal inside ,that when you slide the key in it moves like to the side in order to get the key in,for some reason the key wont go in again, whats better to buy a new lock, and if i do would my car keys work or would i need some other keys,or can i try to fix the one on my car to see if i get that metal piece back to it place.later guys

Best way to keep this from happening again. Get some duct tape and tape a key inside your wheel well. Same bull happened to me. I closed my door and just as it shut I realized the key was in the iginition. Tried to grab the door I was a fraction of a second too late. Luckily I had AAA and have free lock out service. Guy showed up in less than 30 minutes and opend door in about 30 seconds. But, since then I have my duct taped key in my wheel well and have had to use it twice. But, it was no sweat. The important hting is that should you use that hidden key, put it right back. Don't wait or you'll forget and be screwed next time.

I always keep two sets of keys on me. One key is by itself on its lone keyring. Then there's another key in with all my other keys. That one usually sits in my pocket until I need to use it. I used to keep an extra in my wallet but after some time of sitting on it, it bent. Eventually it broke. So no more wallet key. The one lonely key is what I use to drive with. The other bunch is just brought out when I need to open the door to the house, go to my mom's, go to the shed, etc.
Works for me anway. I don't like the stick a key in your fender idea. Someone could see you do that and have easy access to your car. Even with an alarm, I don't condone it. Especially with the DEI alarms of today, which seem to be the most popular. All you need to do to disarm it is just place the key in the ignition and flip the switch. Presto! Quiet alarm granted. Free sports car to thief. Sorry, but it's just too easy.

By a slimjim and learn how to use it. It's the exact same thing that the locksmith would end up doing if he came. I'm not sure about on a Z, but that's what they did on my old civic. I've used a clothes hanger too on someone else's car and it worked, just took me FOREVER! All those other ideas are prolly better thoguh, but if your stuck, slim jim.
