We had the same problem on our project 1995 Maxima car. (j30 VG30DETT drivetrain, its basically a fwd 300zx drivetrain.) turns out it was the sock in the fuel cell. It was putting un-needed stress on the fuel pump, and it was "whinning"... So take a peek, and shoot me back. peace

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you're over working your fuel pump. I think you might need to upgrade to something with a higher rating.

I do believe that the tt fuel pump is a dual stage pump. High-flow mode turns on at high rpms.
I know that the 240 guys usually turn to the tt pump as an upgrade.
