I'm looking to put an exhaust system of some kind on my Z, but I have a limited budget and a few requirements. I was thinking I would just buy two Magnaflow mufflers and simply weld them on in place of the stock exhausts. An affordable catback system would be better, but I'm looking to spend less than $500 if possible. My only requirement is that the exhaust sounds good, I don't care if it adds any horsepower or anything like that. My question is regarding the exhaust piping where it attaches to the mufflers, what is the diameter of this piping? In other words, what is the stock muffler inlet size? Any recommendations regarding affordable exhaust set-ups would also be good.
