AC and Pwr Steering (1991 2+2)

As far as the pwr steering goes, sounds like you either have air in the lines or a leak. Who changed the lines? Did they put pwr steering fluid or did they use ATF like they're supposed to? The steering rack might also need to be regreased.

Now the a/c...compressor o-rings might have to be changed. They could be leaking. The compressor's electrical connections should be checked for corrosion and proper fit. On a cool day, place the controls on defrost and crank up the heat. Does it get really hot like it's supposed to? Or does it just blow ambient temp air? If it gets really hot then your compressor is working and it could just be something electrical. When the compressor turns on and off you should be able to feel it in the cars rpms.

The temp guage rising is in response to you running the air. This could be a sign of things to come however. Check this thread out. It's long and involved but most importantly it's informative. Enjoy.
