1991 Engine cuts out over certain rpm

I have a 91 300z non-turbo and for the past few months I've been having problems with the engine cutting out. It first started last summer when I filled the tank with 91 octane and I thought it was bad gas. They tested the fuel pressure and it was correct. It will start sputtering and sometimes die completely and will not start for a few minutes. After only a couple of minutes it will start again but either dies or will go at very low rpms.

Or you may have a series one PTU which can cause problems as they warm up.

Better yet, search. I recall no less than two threads about this EXACT problem... both with several suggestions and ending with the problem being resolved.

That solved the problem

Hi, thanks for the responses. I did as suggested and removed, cleaned and put back together the MAF Sensor and the problem went away. Many thanks for your help. In the future I'll make sure to search the existing threads.

Thanks,
Chris
