The car is likely to be totaled, but I am going to try for getting repaired. I won't be doing a salvage title.
However, if it winds up getting totaled and is going for parts/scrap where is the best place to recommend for the insurance company? I figure if I can get them a good deal I am more likely to get a better settlement. Additionally, there are plenty of parts in really good condition that I would like to make sure are available to Z community.

The z was rear ended by an F250 and pushed under a BMW M5. Back body damage and front hood and bumper damage.

It might help if forum members had a better idea of location, year and submodel. I can tell you the insurance company will care less about the novelty of the car for recycling purposes and more about getting it off their inventory.

The insurance company is going to screw you and by that I mean lowball you on your car. My '92 2+2 with new engine, suspension, drivetrain and in great condition got all of $3200 from the insurance company. I had to buy back my car for $450 so I could strip it down to nothing, which I did. I went out and bought a '95 that cosmetically looked great and straight and then I gutted and stripped it clean and put all my old/new stuff into the new car. 4 months later and my car is back and better than ever. Don't give up easily take the ford insurance to court or at least threaten to do so; Hold your neck and claim whiplash. make it as hard as you can for them. Don't just fold up meekly. Tell them to give you money and you keep the car. Be a pain in the A**
