Got in an accident today with the Z...

I'm not too happy about it, I did file a police report, and the police officer said that I'm at fault, because no matter what, since I made a left turn, I'm at fault. Seems like bs to me, considering the California Driver's Handbook states "Do not pass a car from behind that has stopped at a crosswalk." So therefore, she's in the wrong as I see it. Would it be any different if she would have hit a pedestrian? I think not. Now I'm just waiting for the insurance agencies to get their stuff together and call me.

What do you all think? Is there anything I'm forgetting that could be beneficial to the accident claim?

You should have gotten the information of the guy in the Acura. California liabilty law is pretty clear on this... Since HE waved you through the intersection, he takes responsibility... It sucks, but it's true. That is why I never wave anyone through an intersection. Sorry about your car dude. Get a good lawyer.

Rod.

The guy who waved me on drove off as soon as the accident happened, I couldn't get his info.

Here's the damage: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image035.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image027.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image034.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image033.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image032.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image031.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image030.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image029.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...k/Image028.jpg

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ****! Well, Rod is right, and all that guy has to do if you find him is denigh it. Anyway, I have some headlight buckets and a cherry hood you can have and a radiator/fan etc. Consider yourself lucky. My truck took 2 months and $14k to fix and my back is still trashed.

Tom, I may come looking after those pieces if you still have them by the time I find out what the agencies are going to do.

I contacted the school, and asked them to run a bulletin asking anyone who saw the accident to call me with more information, so I hope something comes up.
