You can get a new 848 for around 13K, or maybe a used 1098 for around that. Not that much more than the Jap bikes, and you get to ride something with charisma and sex appeal....and won't see yourself around every corner. And I'm not lying when I say chicks dig the Italian bikes.....

I'd venture a bet that if you were to debadge an Italian bike and a Japanese bike, the common girl couldn't differentiate between the two.

lol that's what i was thinking. there aren't many girls that know the difference between motorcycles!

all the reviews i've been reading lately are putting jap liter bikes ahead of the 1198. for this year anyway. which sounds really bad on ducs part because the duc has 200 extra cc's, and about $3k extra, and the jap bikes still beat it around the track...

all that said though, i do really like the ducs mostly for their innovation i guess. looks are great, and that new moto gp replica that i will never remember the name of sounds so nasty i can't stop watching that vid of it riding through the city. lol it was great when it reved and spooked that group of girls. i'll post the link if any of you haven't seen it.

Yeah but those same airheads wouldn't know the difference between a Corvette and Ferrari either. Kick em to the curb!

Yeah wouldn't mind seeing the Desmo video.

Theres no doubt that the Japanese bikes are the best bang for the buck, but there are alot of other factors. Before I had the Duc, I had 8 Japanese 4 cyl crotch rockets (R1, R6s, GSX-rs, CBR), all fun bikes but I wanted to try something different- and I'll never switch back!! Its kinda hard to explain....you just have to own one. And you'd be surprised of the amount of girls who can appreciate a Ducati. My current g/f does...but of course she's Italian herself, maybe thats why.

Are you suggesting that the girls you've dated are all able to recognize a Nissan Z as a Nissan Z? Because most girls I've met since Z ownership didn't know what a Nissan Z was until I told them.

Well...actually no. This current girl keeps calling my 350Z a "Z3". She does seem to know bikes though....

desmo. about a minute or so in is the part where he revs and spooks the group of girls. awesome.

yeah i can understand how unique they are. like i said, i do like them. obviously never ridden one though lol.

on the girl note: i have that shirt that says "26 letters but only one z", and honestly i consider wearing that shirt to be a good way to start convos with girls because they always ask. but, i'm not really looking for convos so i always have to act like a weird *** so i don't feel guilty lol.
