Hey everyone, i am new to the fourm and new to owning a z32. I am in the process of pulling the old motor out of the car due to no compression. My buddy has a motor sitting in his shop that he needs out of the way. He was told it was a running motor, and he will sell it to me for $50. what all do i need to look for on these motor when it comes to a used motor. Thanks for any info and assistance!

I never trust anyone who says "it ran fine when pulled" if I didn't see it run fine. $50 for complete VG30DE is a great deal, but since it's already out, inspect it completely! Do a manual compression check, a USB scope camera ($10 on ebay) is very useful to check the cylinders. Drop oil pan & inspect. Replace the gaskets & seals, thermostat, timing belt & tensioner, etc.
