I don't know what it weighs with the transmission but without it the VG30DETT weighs 610lbs. I know cause I did a VK45DE swap in my Z32 and the VH is 100lbs lighter.

depends on who you ask or where you look...between 3400-3500 lbs.

if you need to look up something for/about the z32, go to rizzspeeds link page.

But I gave him the facts. I pulled my VG30DETT from my Z32 and replaced it with a VK45DE so I know the weight of both engines as I paid for shipping for the VK and knew what the car weighed before and after the swap.

I believe he is looking for the Naturall Aspirated engine weight. I guess you could figure out what the extra weight of the turbos, intercoolers, etc...would be then find the difference.

Ah ha caught ya, Your right, they don't post much on engine weight's for the jap cars.
Besides I'm the new guy here and I figure better start out on the right foot, threw a dart at the screen and it hit your name, so you were it.
What the hell were we talking about? Oh yea, engine weight, forget it he's got it.

Mable, get your butt off the table, the quarter's for the beer.

Humm

That seems to be a decent weight. The reason I'm asking is because I'm doing a SR20DET swap in a Z32, starting off with a 2 seater, N/A car. I was just wondering what the weight savings would be of going with an SR20DET engine/tranny, as opposed to keeping a V6 under the hood. The swap should be fairly simple, my longtime friend does the common SR20DET swap in 240s, but he's done a SR20 (from a S15) swap in his Z32 convertible (which he sold just recently) I do have pictures of the car if anyone's interested. The car dyno'd (stock boost) at 246 RWHP and it ran a 13.9second quarter-mile at 102.9 MPH. The run was done in Alberta Canada.

I saw a pic of a car from japan that did that conversion. It looked sweet. A heck of a lot easier to work on than the VG motor. I would love to do it, but thats a bit more work than I m prepared to do. I think it is like 200 to 300 lbs that the tuning shop shaved by swappin motors. They removed HICAS and everthing. A/C included.
