Turbo Intakes?

This is a pic of a skyline motor. And the part im questioning about is in the red circle. I think they are turbo intakes... Im not sure tho.

Those can be put on most all twin turbo motors right? Please reply with some helpful info. Im still learning about the engine and what can be done to them besides the "basics" Thanks

Welcome to Zdriver. Those are called "aftermarket cone (cold air intake) filters." K&N makes them.... so does just about every other aftermarket parts company.

I suggest reading through these previous threads from just a couple days ago.

Feel free to search through the forums as these types of questions have been asked before.

Remember though the two different engine types you are looking at:

RB26DETT: Inline 6
VG30DETT: V6

Now the VG30DETT combines the intake to a single point on front of the engine, this is good for 500+ hp, at that point you need to do dual cone intake on the front as well. The placement is completely different but the filters are basically the same.

there isnt really a "twin turbo" intake, its just a dual intake. you want something like the JWT single POP intake unless you are pushing some MAJOR HP. and you wouldnt want to move the intake under the hood either. the location of the filter on the z32 brings in cold air, if you put it under the hood, the air would be warmed up by the engine

Oh ok cool. Yea I knew the skyline have an Inline 6, and the 300Zx's have a V6. I just didnt know the sort of "layout" if you will for the intakes. Thanks for the infomation. And you say you dont need dual intakes unless you getting into big big hp?

wtf is ARC?

$500 for that crap?!?!

you do not need that. stick with a simple aftermarket intake, and upgrade to dual pop once you have enough hp

and start a new thread instead of bringing one back from last year
