Totaled and down.
Hey all. Sadly I joined because my Z is critically wounded.
Some retard was driving the wrong way toward me on Skyline the other night.
I swerved to avoid a head-on and did not regain control. My passenger side smashed into the embankment. Luckily I didn't roll. Other driver fled. I only have liability so I am out to dry.
The engine seems undamaged but the suspension is wrecked and I have serious body damage. My mechanic hasn't given me a diagnosis but I know it is going to be excrutiating.

I fear for the frame. The hood no longer fits and a soft rim of the TTop is hanging down. There was also sunscreen on everything. At first I thought I was bleeding white.

Notice the new front wheel alignment. Both rims are busted. Those were new Yokohamas too.

Cringe

Rear is mostly OK

Minor body damage on driver side,

which otherwise seems ok.

I can't stand to see my firstborn like this!

It really sucks that someone is that huge of a jerk to just drive away! If your rims are messed up i have a good set i could sell for 200 or 50 each. It looked like one of them was hit kind of hard. I hope it all works out for you, other than the accident the car looks good.
pull the motor and find a shell?
that things never gonna drive the same again.
for what it would probably cost you to re do the suspension and body work and paint and whatever other damage is there, if its even fixable, you could probably find a shell for 1000-1500.
i dont know the going rate over there in california, but in jersey you can find a shell for a grand.
good luck

Sooo, who's got parts?
Do man-hours seem reasonable? (The hourly rate is a different question)
and I got to see the underside (scary pics later)

I'm working on a separate parts supply chain.
Labor rate is $75. But half of those hours are body work. If I can get it drivable then I think my options are better. Everyone says I should part it out, but I live in an apartment with no parking space, and I cannot work on cars.

Good grief? Hold old is your mechanic?!?!?!?! 90?!?!?! Because some of those labor hours look at about the pace a 90 year old man would work.....
for example the first thing I noticed, it does NOT take 1.3 hours to replace one shock.... maybe 30 - 45 minutes at most... and that's me working at home in the car port with no lift or power tools....
