New Member - Same Headaches - No crank/start

Hello all! New member to the forum. 1990 Z32TT. The car has had a very rough life, but I am slowly trying to get it back in shape! Very slowly I might add...

Car has an intermittent no crank/start issue. Sometimes it fires right up. Sometimes you turn the key on, everything lights up, you can hear the fuel pump, and when you go to start...nothing. Not a sound. Mess with it for a while, and it fires right up.

Starter is new, starter relay is new, battery is new, clutch switch is new. What's next? Ignition switch?

I'm fairly new to these cars, but general wisdom would lead me towards the clutch pedal sensor. Maybe the safety switch is having issues intermittently. Since you've already thrown parts at it, that would be my next check. Good luck and I hope you get it on the road reliably again!

Edit: I just read the part about the clutch switch. At that point, I would check to make sure the starter relay is getting a signal when the key is being turned. IDK what the wiring for it would be, but you should be able to put a test light to the signal pole on the relay and have someone bump the key to check.
