How many of you guys drag?

I know that it sucks because of the wheel hop, but I really don't know many Z people that do. I like to autocross more, but dragging is alot of fun too.
I would kinda like too talk about the differences in techniques if you guys don't keep those to yourselves.

never experienced any wheel hop while dragging or really hard driving, before i blew the motor, one thing i would do for a harder launch would be to flash the converter, but dont do it for for then a couple seconds and dont hold the RPM's to high..

Okay, when you say converter you mean on a an auto riiight? So if you brakestand-launch in an auto you probably aren't going to have wheel, if i'm guessing correctly.

I stilll get bad hop when I launch, and that's about it.
But with new RA-1's I usaully launch at around 3400RPM or so....
Anyone else...?

i was launching more around 4 - 4.5 k but im not dumping the clutch its a quick but true foot release so teh clutch slips for a brief second, its going to wheel hop no matter what, its a Z. but you can change to solid rear subframe bushing to help out alot and get adjustable shocks (kyb AGX) but thats when i had a Z32. and i barely ever did it because its soo bad for the car, drag racing that is.

weed isnt bad, its the amphetamines and heroin that are bad for you, cocain is so-so on the bad side.

If the car drives on the streets, this is a HORRIBLE idea. Solid subframe bushings make for a VERY harsh ride.

Get Specialty Z's subframe spacers and install those with some new Energy Suspension subframe bushings. Set rear suspension to touring (if stock TT shocks) or on the softest setting if they're aftermarket adjustables; if you don't have adjustable rear shocks, go get them.

Lower tire pressure to ~15psi, rev to 3-4k (higher if you're on slicks), slip the clutch, done... no wheel hop.

well I do have the Z1 sub-frame( ones with collers) bushings... but it is probably the old dampners and springs.

dont know why solid was in my head, lol, i meant to type energy suspensions but used solid, though it'll work good for road racing and such

I dump the clutch (although, i'd like to try a different launch style, i don't live anywhere close to a track so i don't really have time to practice, except on the streets which I don't like to put the nitto's on bc i can't do a burnout and heat them up and stuff so yah) on nitto 555r's at around 4500 rpm (bc thats max power for Z32 NA) and never get wheel hop... i have eibach's and kyb's. ran a 15.14 stock a couple years ago, last time I went to the track with intake, exhaust, and some other stuff (check my sig) i ran a 15.2 something or other, but it was raining and the track was wet so launches were luck impossible without spinning.

but I like road racing the best.

I took a buddies Z32 to the track in Ennis Texas which is a decent track.

I used a set on Mickey Thompsons ET Street Radials. Once I lowered the tire pressure to 18psi cold and launch above 5 grand, my times came down to low 13s. My trap times were 110 mph.
