Hello everyone, i am buying a 300zx (not sure which year but between 90-96) and I need to know what would be:
1 The "best" year for making a daily driver with 550-650hp
2 Best type of engine, like Twin Turbo or N/A for making the HP goals stated above.
3 Reliability, like 92 and up since the new body style, i know sometimes people will give it a few years until they buy so the bugs get worked out.

But mainly im buying one and based on what you guys say it will be twined or na. I figured it shouldnt matter to much since i will probably buying new turbo/turbos for the upgrade but i dont know if the internals are beefed up on the twin turbo ones or now.

I also was planing on buying the kit from zmotor sports.

Any insight or tips or even builds that you have done to get 550-650hp parts and knowledge would be a TREMENDOUS help!

TT internals are beefed up. If you want to build power the NA engine is not the right place to start. Your goal numbers are unfortunate though, as far as I know you can go to 450, 500hp on the stock engine. Past that you'll need to further beef up the internals and do all sorts of stuff. Question: have you ever had a turbo car?

 

Ahh I see. Well that gives me a good place to start. And no this will be my first turbo car. Usually into Chevy small and big blocks. Just wanting to see what's on the other side of the fence. ;-)

 

The reason I asked is because, even at the same output, turbo power is much different from N/A power. If you do get your hands on a TT, you might be very surprised at how it feels

 

yeah i have never had the pleasure of driving one unfortunately. But am hoping to get a nice TT 300zx. What do you think about the year? i have heard that 95 was the best but what is your preference?
