that's a list of all the websites, but here are the best ones:

courtesyparts.com for your more miscellaneous stuff. if they don't have it, it's almost certain that you can't get it. prices are high though.

importpartspro.com is good for most of the things that you'll really need. from engines to worn out connectors, kyle has the big things. probably 90% of your maintenance and repair parts can come from him. if he doesn't advertise it, he'll get it for you.

splparts.com has the best suspension components. a few other very high quality parts as well.

whatever you do, don't buy anything made by AMS or buy from Z1. Z1 has a good inventory but they support AMS, and AMS sucks the life out of the z community. they copy parts and sell cheap low quality copies of them. buy buying from them you reduce the funding available for R&D on new parts for the z. it's really your choice, but considering most other vendors will price match for the same part, it doesn't make sense to secure your good customer service and help the entire z community out what little you can.

haha, now that i've spent half the post bad mouthing Z1, let me say welcome, and i hope you enjoy the z.

Wow thanks so much. And thanks for the input on Z1. I will never buy anything from them after what you just told me.

i may have been slightly harsh. i stand by my statement, but i should admit that before i formed this opinion, i've made a few good successful purchases from Z1. make the choice for yourself, but that is my opinion on it. i choose ipp now, but even ipp carries parts made by z1.

also, forgot to mention another good vendor, specialty z. they have the best exhaust systems.

yeah they're pretty much in the same boat as z1 in my book. yeah they have a lot of good customer service feed back, and they have a very good inventory, but the fact is that they copied a part made by 300 degree and put the 300 degree name on it, selling it as a quality part when it was really inferior and caused leaks. they came out and admitted it, but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. i would buy from them if they were the only ones that had something that i needed, same as i would with z1, but i'd rather support good honest business people like ipp and the others that i listed.

I am going to have to agree, I tried to work things out with both companys and have been disappointed. There are other places to deal with and I will.

Some of the links are dead.

Are you kidding me? Good parts? The saying "Buy Cheap, Buy Twice" applies ESPECIALLY to them. They contract the lowest bidding Chinese manufacturer to make their products with the cheapest materials (hence their "good" prices - in quotes because I don't know how good of a price it is when the products are ****). Here's your "good parts" being "good." They're also only about 5 months old in these pics.

That's a whole lotta rust and leaking for "good" parts. Never had any of those problems with my SPL parts.

Here's how the stock pulley aligns the belt (20mm)

Here's how the "good" AMS pulley aligns the belt (22mm)

wrong offset -> extra stress on the belt

AMS puts NO effort into their products. They are a cancer of this community, taking advantage of the cheap "enthusiasts" who don't know any better.

that was an excellent post randy. all the best put together!

it takes a while to really come down from the exitement you feel when you look at a list of AMS parts. the prices are so low and they look so good that it just looks awesome, but think about it for a while and do some research, and you'll realize, just as with anything else, you get what you pay for. if you like to ride bikes, you don't get your bike from walmart.

Yep, and I'll guarantee that a good portion of your favorite suppliers parts are made in china and will look like that after a hard winter or two. The guy that posted the corrosion pics wasn't actually honest if you go back and read some of the posts about when he wrecked his car.

And on the pulley, it was defective. I am currently running a copied part from one of your holier-than-thou suppliers. No design defects there tho.

Do you actually believe that good parts come from the lowest bidder using the cheapest materials? There's a reason they're legitimately considered "good parts." They use higher quality materials, more quality control, etc. This all contributes to the higher cost, as well.

If you don't realize this, then it's not worth my time to even argue with you.

We'll never argue. I'm just clarifying some of your facts. It is everybody's responsibility to perform their own due-diligence before spending their money.
