alright, so it started the other day, when my car would drop RPM's a little every now and then. kinda felt like someone was kicking the car really hard. it progressively got worse and worse until it seriously would not run right and wouls spastically drop a few hundred rpm all over the place. i replaced the fuel filter, but the problem continued to get worse. it is now at the point where it only starts on occasion and wont stay on for very long. any ideas?? thanks

 

Sounds like the fuel pump is about to die, or has died. Pull a plug out and see how it looks.

Could be one or more of many things... you need to dig deeper & give more info. I suggest checking the MAF and all sensor connections. Do a fuel pressure test. Check the spark plug tips to see if they are wet or dry. Do a compression test.

I'm sure the Z32 guys will give more ideas too.

 

plugs are black and the car has been running very rich for a while now (lots of black around the rear of the car)

 

i am having the same problem with my z. I have fuel pressure all the way to the injectors. but when i pull the spark plugs there is no gasoline saturation at all. I think its the cas but im not sure does anyone have any ideas?
