Knocking sound when brakes applied
93 Non-Turbo 2+2
Just installed slotted Rotors with Hawk Pads... they work great except for when applying the brakes hard. Sounds like a knocking sound from the right front. I pulled the wheel, pads, caliper and all looked good. Any ideas?

yes it does it when I really crank down on the pedal. I am usually very kind to my breaks, but in this situation I was instructed to seat the pads by making a series of slow stops then hitting 50mph and braking hard. The sound it made was similar to the ABS system kicking in, but I thought it was a bit loud.
When I changed the brake pads I had to bleed a bit of fluid out in order to get the pistons to open enough to get the pads in. I only had to do it on the right front, and that was coeincidently the same side the noise is coming from. Would the actuator make unusually more noise if the brakes were lean on fluid? or got a bit of air in the line? (I am fairly sure no air got into the line).

It's probably just the ABS kicking in, it's really loud in the Z. You'll know if you had air in the line as the brake pedal would have gone soft on you after 2/3 stops. The Hawk pads are very nice, also slotted rotors tend to make more of a whirring sound when applying heavy braking as well.
