The sensor light is for the O2 sensor, after 75K-90K miles there is a harness under the panel (by your left knee) that says to disconnect it after XX,XXX miles. Disconnect that.

The reason your digital dash isn't fully working is because of the power box. It's diminsions are like 5"x4"x1" that needs to be changed out.. Too expensive to get from the factory but check ebay. They have them floating around there sometimes.

Would it surprise you I turn 16 in a couple days?

well check your speedo cable and any other wiring behind the cluster.

And the sensor thing is the same no matter what dash.

Why would you want to disconnect your O2 sensor? Or is this to disconnect the light for the sensor light?

You're full of ****. The 87-89 analog dash models don't have speedometer cables. Only the 84-86 models have cables that run into the instrument cluster. And the digital dash models all run to a speed sensor right in front of the battery.

Yes I am full of ****.I meant the speed sensor cable, not the speedo cable,my mistake. But still, would it matter that the one i want to use came off a standard, and has to go onto a manual?

Also,is there any chance the sensor may have gone bad?
Would anyone know were i can purchase a new(not used)one.?

The speed sensor cable is part of a wiring harness. You replaced the whole harness? No. It doesn't matter if it came from an auto or manual.

Yes. The sensor could be bad if the oil seals went bad and transmission fluid gummed it all up.

As far as a new one, have you even considered the Nissan dealership? They generally have brand new Nissan parts. Or they can get them from the big warehouse.

Do you have to be told to try a shoe store if you want new shoes? Cause that's what it seems like.

LOL wouldn't you know it i dont try on shoes before i buy them, becuase i buy the same pair everytime so i dont have to adjust to new shoes.

Obviously i already assumed the dealer, can you say price rape?
i was asking to find out if there might be some other choices(maybe cheaper)
that i hadn't thought of.
After all thats what this site is for right?
for people to help each other, and not be ********.

I wouldn't trust any auto parts stores with an electronic part for my imports. Their quality control sucks. And a lot of very specific parts (like the speed sensor, fuel temp sensor, as well as a host of other electronic parts) are not even available from them anyway. Being that is a very specific Nissan part, I would have to say it's to the dealership for a new one, or to the junkyard and take your chances on a used part. Sorry. That's just the way it works.

If you have tried the dealership, then you should have stated that you've at least looked and reported the price they quoted you. Then it would look like you've at least attempted to find the solution. I may appear to be an *******, but you appear to be lazy. Why help lazy people? They very rarely provide anything useful.

totally agree zbum, genuine for a reason, they made it, it'll work. Sure the prices are hefty at times, but hey, at least you'll know it'll work.

As for the shoes, thats queer, but understandable.

Why by a cheap part made in a korean warehouse asembled using the lowest grade parts, where you can buy genuine? woul you buy a timing belt made from mexico, or one made by a congressional nissan supplier?

choice is yours buddy.

My Sensor light is on also

I have an 84 300Zx Turbo and my sensor light is on even after I replaced the O2 sensor with a brand new Bosch O.E. one. What else could be wrong? Also anybody know what differential is best I need a new one.
