S Pipe to Turbo "Mystery" Part

Howdy, first post here ... with a conundrum of a mystery. I own a 1987 Z31 Turbo everything stock, running the T3. My Z had been taken out of comission to replace the timing belt, I don't have the time with work/family to do it myself, so I've got someone who's gone quite in-depth with his work and inspection.

Long story short, we've found a worn out part that needs replacement. I'm not entirely sure what it is. Its a rubber tube/flange that fits into the turbo-side of the S-Pipe. The inner portion of the "flange" section is reinforced with a strip of flexible metal. It looks like its used to reduce from the S-Pipe to the Turbo.

The Nissan illustrated parts breakdown (Using the fiche located on z31.com and at Courtesy Parts Nissan), I've noticed that the part does not exist. Unless it's not individual and comes as part of the next higher assembly, ie the S-Pipe when you order it.

As of this post, this is the only piece needed to make my Z roadworthy again -- although we could possibly re-use the old one, its suspected of being worn enough to allow dirt/dust to enter the turbo.

I'm attaching a few pictures to help identify the piece.

This part does not exist. I've been looking for days, even if just for confirmation that it's a part that should be installed.

Welcome to ZDriver!

Looks like it's considered all one part... http://nissan4u.com/parts/300zx/us_z...l/air_cleaner/

I wouldn't waste my time searching for it though... just replace that whole thing... Custom Intake Setups

Another alternative would be to take that seal to your local industrial hose warehouse and ask if they can make some type of replacement for you.

I always go to EVCO House of Hose here in Salt Lake... monster warehouse that can get any hose or connection on any type of machine.

Ended up at a few turbo shops trying to figure out about that reducer gasket thing, one of them have me some reinforced hose that fits the interior of the s pipe, and exterior of the turbo inlet ... The adapters I've seen seem to be designed to go on the outside of the pipes, but on the s pipe is designed to be reduced from the inside ... it has a spot welded clamp that tightens the end of the pipe onto the reducer (which is fitted inside)

Should be installed and drive worthy by tomorrow ... sometimes I hate my work schedule
