Idle Switch

The idle switch on my 84 na is bad, I also own an 85 300zxt, this is my parts car. I am wondering if the idle switch on the 85 turbo will work on my 84 na just for a quick fix until I get paid.

If your talking about the Throttle Position Sensor that's on the throttle body then yes, it will swap over. If I'm not mistaken it's even the same as the 280ZX TPS.

I dont think the tps is the same thing as the idle switch, but then again I'm not sure. I dont even know what the idle switch looks like. All I know about it is the code 23 was shown when I checked the diagnostics, that and what this page tells me. https://www.zdriver.com/forums/showt...ht=idle+switch
I looked through my Chilton manual and couldn't find anything on the idle switch.

Also, could a bad idle switch cause the car to misfire?
