I need help with a motor swap
I have an 86 turbo 300zx and lost the title but never got it signed to my name and the guy moved back to cali, so the car cant be titled so I will be stripping it. I also have a 94 geo track(trail truck) that the sad excuse of a motor 1.6l crapped out so I want to put my 300zx engine and trans(until i find a good pathfinder tranny) in my tracker. I searched the 510 forums to try and find out what exactly do i need to make this engine run, I just know the basics, like the ECU, injectors, TPS, mass air meter, and O2 sensor. I was trying to find the wiring diagrams online but NADA, If I can get a hold of a good diagram I will use all my plugs and make a completely new harness(maybe just unloom and trash the unnecessary stuff, and just wire wrap the stuff that is needed).
all i found online was, to just follow the wires under the dash about a foot from the ECU(extra wiring to wire everything up) and just unplug the ECU an pull the wires through the firewall. the just put every thing in the 510. But I need to know exactly what parts are needed to run. I might have to make a need plenum(the 300 plenum goes to far over the trans, and if it comes out good I will make a few copies, might put the tb right up front if not it will be centered on one of the sides probably drvers) and not sure if I need the idle air control valve and what vacuum lines do I need. I paid 300 for the car about a yr ago and all I need to do it a head job(runs but not great, it skips a bit and I did a pressure test on each cyl. all of the driverside is shot. he said it happened after he took it to get the intake gaskets changed,I thing they dropped something but I know its just the valves, the oil is perfect no gas)
