Talking Engine Swap

So I'm looking for VG30ET engine to swap into my 88zx non-turbo
Any ideas where I can find one for less than 1.1k?

junkyard? any sort of engine supplier in your area, or you can check other forum classifieds like 300zxclub.com etc. there no real right answer to that question. you just kinda have to search around and find what would work best for you yah know?

Are you on drugs? The 300ZX was heavier than any 240SX.

ok so i found the right engine and i found the right guy to do the work.
its a SR20DET from an s13
pushing 200+hp with the potential to hit higher, way higher.
total cost including engine price+labor+parts estimated $2000

now adding a some other performance parts including new turbo and intake system
my estimated cost goes up to $3200

looks like i'm only $1.2k away from what i want it to be
and thats just mechanical. still got some body work and interior work as well
i was kinda hoping to have it ready by next month for a car show at my school
but not gonna happen... atleast it'll be ready within two months( mechanical wise) for me to take it on the strip

SR20 in a Z31??? hmmm.... idk man, i think you'd be better off putting that in a lighter car, liek an S30 or an S13 what it belongs in....

really, a vg30et will give you more power cheaper, and be a hell of a lot easier to swap in. and the z31 is a heavy bitch, you really want a bit more torque than an SR will put out. but hey, good luck with the sr anyways.

The SR hasn't been built yet either. What's your point?

spend 3200 on a v8 and have 500hp , But I do like the SR20, it has potential. I just would put it in a light car... but its your money.

heck I have seen turbo 300zxs around here for way less than 3200, heck mine was 1k. sometimes I think its cheaper for people to wait and buy a turbo car.

$3200 on the VG and you'll get 500hp as well. And you won't have to worry about a different transmission and custom mounts and all that other custom work involved.
