GT-R engine swap?
Does anyone out there know how you go about swaping the engine and drive train from a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec? How to modify suspension, motor mounts, radiator mounts, intercooler and most important, where can I get all this stuff!!??(engine, suspension, computer, intercooler and drivetrain)

k.
Awhile ago I looked into getting an AC cobra kit, and I was planning on using the GTZ-R drivetrain as the heart of the project. Needless to say, two years later I am cobraless. Getting skyline parts in the US is virtually impoosible. There are very few over here to begin with, and the ones that are are almost all imported used. My best suggestion for getting parts is to check out some of the U.K skyline club sites, as they will have the best prices for you for parts. As far as how to hybridize your car, I wouldn't know where or if there is anyone that has ever done this before. I ran into the same problem.. You could probably start with the shop manuals on each car, which should give you dimensions and the important differences. After that it might just be a slight hit and miss game. You know, custom motor mounts, radiator mounts, spearco has an intercooler you can use, or a supra intercooler will work as well. I am not sure how well everything would line up. There is one person that I know that swapped JUST the engine into a 280zx. His car was featured awhile ago in Sport Compact Car Magazine. You could get a hold of them to see if they might be able to get you in touch with the gentleman who owns that particular car, he lives in Japan if I remember correctly. I will see if I can get that info for you, don't know how long it will take though.
Good luck, that would sure be a sweet ride!!
